Custom Made Pen"The pen is made from African Blackwood and Olivewood I import directly from an olive orchard in Bethlehem, Israel. The olivewood is harvested from the tree prunings and no trees are cut down to get the wood. The symbol in the cap is an ichtus and was used by first century christians as a sign of recognition so they wouldn't be persecuted by the Romans. They would draw the symbol in the dirt and if the other person was also a christian then they could talk openly about their faith. And as I'm sure you are aware, Bethlehem was the birthplace of our Lord and that makes the olivewood very special for me. The two tone writing nib of the pen is made in Germany out of iridium and plated with 18 kt gold. The other metal parts of the pen are triple plated with 10 kt gold. The wood is actually finished with cyanoacrylate glue (Krazy Glue) with a process I developed and then coated with Renaissance Wax. It is the most durable finish I have ever used on wood. Renaissance wax was developed by the London Museum for the furniture exhibits in the museum. As with any piece of finished wood, maintenance for the pen will require a periodic application of a good paste furniture wax. I wax my personal pen about twice a year and it looks new."
